Day 245 – Save the Date: We made some Save the Date bookmarks for our wedding guests and they arrived today. They look awesome and here’s one of the shots we used. If you get one from us, hope you like it!

Day 212 – I’m With the Band: Yesterday I got a phonecall from Martin, a longtime family friend, asking if I was around to do photo shoot with his band ahead of the release of their new album. This shoot has been one we agreed I’d do back in 2006, but it’s taken some time to get to the stage where it was needed! Anyway, we had a stroll round Digbeth today doing the session, and this one – complete with strobist style wireless flashes – is my early favourite!

Day 102 – Wedding bells: This is Cindy and Phil whose wedding we went to this evening.  I wasn’t photographer for this one, but still managed to grab myself a few shots.  Cindy used to teach me and Ellie German, and she’s now a good friend of ours.  Congrats to both!

Day 85 – Rock!: Today I had two portrait sessions – one with a family in the morning then in the afternoon I met guitarist Christian, who wanted some promo shots doing.  We headed into a studio for most of the session, but I was desperate to play with some strobist wireless flash outside first.  We went to Coventry Cathedral ruins, I set things up, told Christian to jump and the result?…Awesome!

Day 80 – I Don’t Mind Mondays: Today was another typical Monday i.e. I’ve been to work, came home and not done much else.  So, for today’s pic I wanted to post one from my band shoot with Maylene and the Sons of Disaster before the Taste of Chaos gig last week.  Unfortunately, two of MATSOD’s members were forced to miss this tour, and so only the ‘proper’ 4 members were doing the shoot.  Still, I’m pleased with the shot and it was another chance to paly with wireless flash.

Day 71 – Not so Jolly Hockey Sticks: Yesterday I finally purchased my dream flashgun, one that lets me use it off camera for a strobist effect.  Before Ellie went off to play hockey, I grabbed this rather scary portrait of her to test if I’d got my head round the theory.  It worked!

Day 13 – Start as you mean to go on: October is looking like a good month already!  Today has been very positive and has made me very excited about the next few weeks.  I finally received my wireless flash trigger, so should be able to get very creative with my lighting soon, I’ve got a confirmed slot on the guestlist with a photo pass for my first gig in ages tomorrow – the pop punk upstarts All Time Low – and, I got offered that job that I interviewed for on Tuesday!  To top it all there was also a great sunset which, as you can clearly see, is today’s pic.  I’ve got another interview tomorrow and at least one great gig to go to and photograph next week as well, so if October continues in this way I will be one very happy camper!
