Day 73 – Looking Forward: Another quiet day today, so I’m looking forward to tomorrow night instead when I will be photographing Killswitch Engage.  Last time I shot KsE was in 2006 and I’d only had my SLR a few weeks.  I didn’t really know how to use it but got this shot, which is still a favourite of mine.  Here’s hoping I can do better tomorrow!

Day 72 – Notorhead: Tonight I was meant to be photographing Motorhead in Wolverhampton, I’d even been approved for my pass.  But then I found out that, because it’s a Sunday and that’s a valid reason for trains being crap, i would have had to left Wolverhampton an hour before I was aiming to get there to catch the last train home – brilliant.  So instead, we went to watch Nativity, the film with Alan Carr and Martin Freeman set in Coventry with scenes in the cathedral ruins.  I visited those ruins last year and quite like this HDR shot.

Day 71 – Not so Jolly Hockey Sticks: Yesterday I finally purchased my dream flashgun, one that lets me use it off camera for a strobist effect.  Before Ellie went off to play hockey, I grabbed this rather scary portrait of her to test if I’d got my head round the theory.  It worked!

Day 70 – Christmas is coming: Today I got to be at the launch of Solihull’s first Christmas market.  I mingled with the Mayor, members of Cabinet and various important people in the Council, and also got to enjoy some fun German music courtesy of this fellow and his friend.  If you get chance go to Solihull and check it out, it’s all happening in Mell Square.

Day 69 – Oh, what’s occurrin’?: Today is a great day – Gavin and Stacey returns to television, so in honour of that, I’ve searched my archives for a Welsh rock star to post as today’s pic.  Here’s what I found, former Stereophonics drummer Stuart Cable.  This was taken when he drummed for Stone Gods at the Birmingham Barfly last September – a one-off performance which I was very lucky to shoot.

Day 68 – More Lily: Today has been a hella busy day at work, dealing with a story about a shop and balloons being a safety risk.  Google it and you’ll find out more I’m sure.  So, it was nice to come home and finish editing my pics from last night – here’s one of my favourites.

Day 67 – Smile, it’s Lily: Tonight I photographed Lily Allen’s show at the NIA for The Daily Dust.  She was surprisingly good and put on a thoroughly enjoyable show.  Lighting was good, got some top shots so I am happy!

Day 66 – Birmingham Rocks: It’s weird, up until last Friday I’d never photographed a show at the NIA, and yet, just like a bus, I’ll be back there again tomorrow to shoot Lily Allen.  Good times.  Oh, if you hadn’t guessed already, I’ve done nothing today!

Day 65 – And We’re Done: Today, we finally seem to have finished sorting everything out and storing all of our collective stuff.  For the first time since we moved in, everything has its own place – even the rubber ducks.  Now we just need some of my photography on the walls and it’ll be perfect!

Day 64 – We Got the Tower: Woo!  The CD tower is finished and my many CDs now have a trendy new home, much like myself, only I don’t live on a shelf.
