Day 324 – Football’s Back: Today is the first day of the football league season, which means I was back reporting for the League Paper. Today I was sent to Coventry to see the Sky Blues beat newly relegated Portsmouth. Good game and a good experience.

Day 197 – Reporting For Duty: Finally, after months of not being able to do it, today I was back out reporting, like I was on the very first day of this blog. Today I was at Coventry Rugby to watch a dire relegation battle against Moseley for The Rugby Paper. Cov won 6-3 and this pic shows my view from the press box before kick-off.

Day 152 – Sent to Coventry: Today I was in Coventry for some exellent training about local government’s use of digital and social media. A great day, and worth spending lots of train time for.

Day 101 – Sales Fail: I braved the sales today and spotted this glaring error in HMV – oh dear.

Day 85 – Rock!: Today I had two portrait sessions – one with a family in the morning then in the afternoon I met guitarist Christian, who wanted some promo shots doing.  We headed into a studio for most of the session, but I was desperate to play with some strobist wireless flash outside first.  We went to Coventry Cathedral ruins, I set things up, told Christian to jump and the result?…Awesome!

Day 72 – Notorhead: Tonight I was meant to be photographing Motorhead in Wolverhampton, I’d even been approved for my pass.  But then I found out that, because it’s a Sunday and that’s a valid reason for trains being crap, i would have had to left Wolverhampton an hour before I was aiming to get there to catch the last train home – brilliant.  So instead, we went to watch Nativity, the film with Alan Carr and Martin Freeman set in Coventry with scenes in the cathedral ruins.  I visited those ruins last year and quite like this HDR shot.

Day 38 – Smashing!: This sorry excuse for a sunroof is the current state of the top of my Dad’s car.  Somehow a rock went through it on the weekend and now he’s having great difficulty finding a replacement sunroof that costs less than he paiud for the car, so if anyone knows of somewhere you can get a cheap replacement sunroof for a Nissan Micra in the Coventry area, please get in touch!

Day 7 – An Engagement Shoot in Coventry: Meet Tash and James.  They are getting married in Coventry this December and I am lucky enough to be photographing their big day.  Today was their engagement session (these sessions come included in all of my wedding packages) so we wandered around Coventry and got some cool images.  I haven’t gone through all of them yet, but this is my favourite so far – gangsters!

Day 3 – Bust the Belly!: That’s not a maternity shoot on the left, that I am ashamed to say is my own belly that has developed after a summer of doing sod all.  I don’t really have any excuses for it, I simply haven’t done any exercise since February.  Back then I used to cycle to work in Coventry, so I was covering 11 miles a day.  I left that job to start my NCTJ course in Manchester, and although I didn’t do any exercise as such up there, I was walking 4 miles a day to get to the office where I was training.  Since finishing that course though, I have spent most of my days sitting at my desk job hunting, eating and drinking tea.  But, starting this project has given me the kick up the arse I needed to get going, because I know it’s something else that I need to stay committed to.  So, as you can see from the picture on the right, I dug out my running shoes and went for a jog.  It was tough, I won’t lie, I felt pretty crap when I’d first finished.  But, I felt good after that, and did some weights and sit ups as well, so I’m on the way back to some sort of level of fitness.  Plus, posting a snap of my belly on the net has got to be motivation to get rid of it!
