Day 206 – You Got Mail: So, today I had an email from this guy, Chris Ketley, who played in Ellie Goulding’s band when I photographed them last month. He liked my pics on the Daily Dust’s review of the show so much that he wants to use them on his new website, which is awesome!
Day 199 – The Weekend Continues: Another bank holiday! That meant another day of doing nothing, so for today’s pic, have another of Miss Goulding.
Day 196 – No Company: Unfortunately I didn’t get a pass to shoot Bad Company last night, so you’ll have to make do with another shot from Ellie Goulding on Saturday. P.S. Why is it called Good Friday? Coz you don’t have to go to work! That’s VERY good!
Day 192 – Hit That!: One of the really good things about the Ellie Goulding gig on Saturday was, because of the smallness of the venue, I was actually able to get some decent drummer shots for a change! Look at this, no face obscured by cymbals, he’s in focus and some nice backlighting to boot!
Day 191 – Primary Colours: Another one from last night for you here, this time of the support act, Primary1. This is their singer, Joe, who I interviewed before the show and can say was a very ncie chap! He’s a pretty good singer too, very Bowie-esque.
Day 190 – Back in the Pit: Tonight I was shooting my first gig in ages – the headline show by Ellie Goulding, who apparently is the next big thing. She was OK, not my kind of music but a decent enough singer. It was also my first visit to the new Birmingham Academy 2. Lighting was OK, but I was very thankful for my 50mm f/1.8 prime lens for the best shots.
