Day 92 – Back to Brum: Our friends Pippa and Ruth came to visit this weekend so we took them into Birmingham for a look round the German market. I ate Ostrich burger – it was awesome – and we didn’t get too crushed in the crazy Christmas crowds, which was a bonus!

Day 83 – It’s (nearly) Chriiiiiistmas: This is Olivia, who started work at Solihull Council the same time as me. This afternoon we were allowed to decorate the office for the festive season…I say we, Olivia took charge and I did what i was told. But it looks good, and Olivia was very happy with it!

Day 78 – Merry Christmas!: Today Ellie and I travelled down to London to stay with our friends Kate (pictured) and Richard. The occasion? To have Christmas dinner of course! We ate well with a load more friends coming round to join in, and we were both mihgtily impressed with Kate’s improvised tree.

Day 70 – Christmas is coming: Today I got to be at the launch of Solihull’s first Christmas market. I mingled with the Mayor, members of Cabinet and various important people in the Council, and also got to enjoy some fun German music courtesy of this fellow and his friend. If you get chance go to Solihull and check it out, it’s all happening in Mell Square.

Day 56 – Walking in a Wetter Wonderland: After work I checked out Birmingham’s annual German Christmas market today, however, the heavy rain made it a somewhat miserable experience. Hopefully I’ll be going back on a drier night when I can be bothered to take more pictures – the one above does sum up the general mood for today though!
