Day 346 – Reading rocks: Today we did Reading festival. Limp BIzkit were fantastic, Paramore excellent, Weezer impressive and Blink 182 pretty good too, and no-one was late on (are you watching Axl Rose?). But the best thing, two Cambridge graduates flashing the metal horns!

Day 254 – The King: This is Kerry King of Slayer, who I got to photograph at the Academy tonight. He is a shredding legend and was a joy to see in action close up. Already looking forward to seeing them again at Sonisphere!

Day 246 – Festival Season is Coming!: Found out today that I will be shooting Sonisphere this July! It will be my first ever festival and I can’t wait. There’s some great bands playing and hardly any that I’ve shot before, apart from these guys – Papa Roach.

Day 241 – RIP Ronnie James Dio: Today is a very sad day for fans of rock and metal, with the news that legendary singer Ronnie James Dio has passed away, after losing his battle with stomach cancer. I was lucky enough to see Dio live twice – once with his solo band and once fronting Heaven and Hell. On the latter gig, I was even more lucky to photograph them, which is where today’s pic comes from. My thoughts go out to his wife wendy, the rest of his family and his bandmates. Thankfully, his legend will live on with his music and the devil horn hand gesture that he brought into the genre. Dio, RIP \m/

Day 230 – Sonic Boom: So, tonight I got to photograph KISS at the LG Arena. KISS are not really a band I’ve ever gotten into, but my word are they awesome to photograph. Great showmen, great lights…pure rock and roll!

Day 219 – Karma to Burn: Tonight I was at the Academy 3 to shoot stoner rockers Karma to Burn for the Daily Dust. They were pretty good – very heavy – but their lack of a vocalist made it a tad samey.
